Change of Season – Stay in Balance

Change of season, change of being. The sun is dipping lower on the horizon in this part of the world and with the change of summer flowing into the fall, our bodies naturally flow and prepare with the tune of nature to become more introspective in preparation for the transition from the summer sun and fiery activity to the winter tranquility and coldness. Autumn becomes the time of in between, a parenthesis filled with warm days and cool evenings, sweet scents of abundant harvests and the earthy smells of the decay regenerating the soil. A season filled with activity of a different nature. In Classical Chinese Medicine, the season of autumn is associated with the lungs and large intestine. It is through the lungs that one connects with the concept of Ch’i. What is Ch’i? Ch’i is the breath of heaven. The ancient Chinese believed that heaven initiated life.  Ch’i is energy, an energy underlying life. It is the awareness of this energy that forms the basis of Classical Chinese medicine. It is this basis in partnership with sound vibration and music theory that has evolved Soundtouch therapy. When the flow of Ch’i is disturbed, there can be imbalances in the body leading to dis-ease. This autumn take the time to nurture your Ch’i by bringing awareness to your lungs and large intestine. The lungs receive inspiration, connect with spirit and discover what inspires you. The large intestine allows you to let go the inessential. What is it that you need to let go of in order to act upon your inspirations? Practice breathing. Pay attention to the process of breathing without judging it, just be aware of it. The purpose is to clue into the state of our well-being through the breath. Are we calm? agitated? distracted? focused? Continue this awareness, feeling the rhythmic flow, notice that the heart centre and the mind become steady and more calm. Finding balance in the midst of a transitional season.

Chakras

The word Chakra is derived from the Sanskrit word meaning "wheel," "circle" and “cycle". It is described by many as a spinning wheel of light. Although many people are familiar with the word Chakra, ancient cultures worldwide have similar conceptions of energy wheels or vortices. The “Circle” is used in a variety of senses, symbolizing the endless rotation of primordial source energy. The chakra therefore is an energy centre, a cosmic self generating and regenerating battery. In the yogic tradition, seven chakras (of the 88,000) are considered the major chakras and are embodied within our physical bodies and are connected to different nerve plexuses within the body. All of the acupuncture points (Energy Release Points) also act as chakras.

Chakras as invisible, rechargeable batteries

Chakras have the ability to recharge and regenerate through their spin, and work together through their connection to your centre channel. The centre channel is a shaft of energy that runs vertically from the top of your head to the base of your spine. This energy is both masculine and feminine. Masculine energy spins in a counter-clockwise direction, feminine energy spins in a clockwise direction. When these two energies are in perfect balance, they create the flower of life.

Chakras connect your spiritual bodies to your physical one.

Chakras regulate the flow of subtle energy throughout the network that runs through the physical body which in turn influence our physical, emotional and mental states. Their health and integrity are maintained through grounded and balanced lifestyles as well as positive thoughts toward the self and others. Sometimes chakras become blocked because of stress, emotional or physical problems. If the body’s ‘energy system’ can not flow freely it is likely that problems will occur. The consequence of irregular energy flow may result in physical illness and discomfort or a sense of being mentally and emotionally out of balance. Essential oil blends such as those found in our chakra healing mists help activate subtle energy, serving to regenerate and balance the chakra system. Spring Equinox, renewal and rebirth

Enter the time of Spring Equinox.  The time of renewal and rebirth.  It is for most a fiery energy of action, of movement,  as well as the fruition of seeds planted during the last few weeks.  Equinox is not the beginning of the spring season, it is the height of spring.  It is the energy necessary to propel us towards the energy of an active summer culminating with solstice.  So how does one effectively use this energy to help manifest and co-create life? Equinoxes always signal a chance for change and for renewal, taking the nourishment from the previous cycle. Equinoxes also are a powerful time to connect to the grounding qualities of Earth to anchor in your new visions and dreams.  The anchoring of the energy allows you to firmly plant yourself into the ground and draw into your body the vitality and freshness of the Spring growth.  Grounding into the Earth allows your to firmly walk towards the new goals that you have set for yourself. Connecting to the energy of Spring is like connecting to a seed thought and giving yourself permission to feel freedom, and to express your idea and weave it into a new picture, or  a new expression, ultimately creating a new and joyful reality. Take advantage of what we find in nature.  Spring is characterized by wind, use wind to release discordant and stressful energy.  Open your windows, allow breezes to flow into and through your home.  Spend time outdoors and visualize worries being carried away on the wind.  The light of the sun will transform the stress and discord, much the same way that the ancients used fire in a ceremony or ritual to surrender something that needed to be unloaded.  Celebrate this newness, observe new life, hatching of dreams, celebrate the rebirth of nature.  All is in expansion. What part of you is being reborn? Honor it!

Sound Healing – Resonance, Frequency, Rhythm and you

How does sound in sound healing work? This article explores qualities and energetics of sound. SOUND HAS RESONANCE. Resonance is a phenomenon in which a vibrating system or external force drives another system to oscillate (move or swing) Some objects have two or more resonant frequencies. Resonance occurs when an object’s movements (oscillations) are increased by the matching vibrations of another object. Everything in the universe vibrates, which means everything has a resonant frequency whether we can audibly perceive it or not, such as dog whistles, wi-fi, radio towers. When taken in alignment with the concept of sound, every organ, bone and tissue in our body has a resonant frequency. When taken to another level, understand that a conscious being is more than a combination of organs, bone and tissues. A conscious being has thoughts, feelings, and emotions. Therefore the resonant frequency of an individual in combination with the resonance of a physical body and consciousness create a compositional frequency and harmonic resonance that has the ability to attract others, as well as affect others in a positive or negative way. SOUND HAS FREQUENCY. Frequency is the number oscillations (vibrations or waves) per unit of time. It is measured in cycles per second called Hertz. The slower the vibration the lower the frequency. The faster the vibration, the higher the frequency. (we can see this physically manifest on the length of a pendulum chain - the shorter the chain the faster the pendulum response) The speed at which sound travels depends on the media through which the sound is traveling. Sound travels 4x faster in water than in the air, so the body, made mostly of water is an excellent sound resonator. SOUND HAS RHYTHM, this is to say that there is a regular pattern of beats and regular recurring patterns of activity. (such as a heartbeat) These patterns are formed from stress and unstressed actions. This is another reason why sounds can calm and stabilize the body. SOUND HAS ENTRAINMENT. Entrainment is an action that causes something to happen, it draws something in and moves it along in the flow. Solid particles, air bubbles, or liquids dropped into a moving fluid are carried along. With entrainment, the body cells have the ability to communicate. Healthy cells can transform unhealthy cells. SOUND HAS VIBRATION. Vibration is the process of movement, which in effect can communicate feelings and thoughts from one to another as well as creates the atmosphere of a place or a situation. We observe this when we enter certain buildings, a church or temple feels much differently than a busy office. SOUND HAS TONE/TIMBRE. Tone is a measure of the quality of a sound wave. Timbre is the perceived quality of any sounds’ multiple frequencies changing through time. This explains why some sounds stimulate positive or negative memories, as well as the importance of soundtracks in the movies for example.

What is Self Healing

What is self healing? It is generally considered that self healing is a phrase applied to the process of recovery that is motivated, initiated and directed by the self. The value of self healing lies in the ability of the individual to access health giving forces within the body as well as to make choices that lead to wellness and wholeness. It takes inner responsibility and motivation as well as information and knowledge. It takes a willingness to learn and grow. It takes a belief that one has the capacity to be well. The process of self healing can be accelerated with techniques of introspection such as meditation, journaling and art as well as active application of vibrational healing and sound. Through active application of sound, the following effects have been noticed:
  1. Stress reduction
  2. Reduction in muscle tension, which usually compliments stress reduction.
  3. Improved sleep, which allows the body to regenerate.
  4. Improvements in emotional conditions such as depression, anger or anxiety - leading to feelings of     being more centred, grounded and balanced.
  5. Improvement in mental clarity
Generally speaking, sound has a way of harmonizing the body to wholeness through the qualities of resonance and vibration. As with all techniques, trust is a key factor. Trust that the body knows how to heal itself and is constantly working on balancing itself. (sneezing, yawning are just a few examples) Trust that the body is communicating with you and telling you what it needs. (More rest? more movement? more water? more/less food?) Honour the body’s wisdom when it is communicating with you. Embrace gratitude as a way of life. Everyday thanking the body for it’s vitality. Focus on what it can do instead of lamenting what it can no longer do. Thank your body for growing stronger and stronger each day. Soundtouch – Explore the Deeper Meaning of Acupuncture Points

Music making, whether it is singing, chanting, dancing, playing an instrument or attending musical events is a powerful transformative energy capable of healing the soul. Scientific research confirms that our body, brain, organs and cells vibrate in measurable frequencies. Music is a healing art. So how does one make music physical? In the search to answer this question, as well as looking at ways to improve bodily health and well being, the fascinating journey into Chinese Medicine became the medium for the application of sound via the acupuncture point system. Hence Soundtouch therapy was born. Acupuncture points are little vortices of energy that when blocked restrict the flow of energy through our physical being. Blocked energy creates disharmony which can lead to disease. It is appropriate to call acupuncture points, Energy Release Points. A Soundtouch therapy session is very experiential. Initial consultation and medical history determine the treatment plan. Specific sound frequencies are then applied to the body on the appropriate Energy Release Points and vibration begins to flow into the meridian pathway allowing the body to relax into a receptive healing state. In this state, healing begins as the whole body system communicates within itself. Sound has the ability to build bridges within our emotional, mental, spiritual and physical body that brings to our conscious selves the awareness necessary to walk the path to wholeness and health. Writing the book Spiritual Portraits of the Energy Release Points, became a natural extension of this healing modality. The purpose of this book is to bring forward the messages of each acupuncture point (Energy Release Point). In Classical Chinese Medicine, the power of healing is drawn not only from unblocking the energy of the point, but also in understanding the spirit of the point found within the name itself. Reading the message consciously connects one to the root of the issue. Isn’t it wonderful to know that our body holds the key to our own ability to become healthy? Spiritual Portraits of the Energy Release Points is a valuable resource for any bookshelf, not just an acupuncturist or for a patient of acupuncture. It can be used as an oracle, with random opening for the message that you need to start your day, or to deal with a problem that you have been wrestling with in your mind. Reading the message can bring balance and help reclaim your centre for a more joy filled life.

Full moon in Cancer January 2017

The energies of full moon in January 2017 will bring forward qualities of the Cancer sign. While this is most beneficial for those who are born in this zodiacal sign, it can feel like an emotional roller coaster for those who are not. The Cancer sign at its best is ultimate feminine energy. Feminine energy as represented by the goddess Isis. An energy that is receptive, sensitive, imaginative, kind and highly intuitive. Feminine energy can be seen as the seed of unlimited potential just waiting for the masculine energy to spark the seed into full manifestation. It is the source of creativity. The potential of all that will rebirth. The language of a Cancer moon is expressed with “I Feel”. In this full moon, there will be a large push to “Feel”. The energy of this moon in Cancer can be intense and as such can greatly influence the uncovering of hard to look at emotions and truths. One can feel more vulnerable and exposed. Emotions and truths which have been deeply and darkly hidden, will seem to rise to the surface and be poked by those around you. Have courage, for the once emotions are honestly dealt with, the power of this full moon gives you tools to embrace truth which will allow you to accept, heal and rebirth. So how does one stay in balance when there is such powerful energy swirling about? Here are a few suggestions: Using essential oils such as those found in our vibrational healing products such as Courage (Horus) and Rebirth (Isis). Receiving body work such as Soundtouch therapy. Listening to some beautiful music while drawing, colouring or painting. Writing out a gratitude list and adding to it daily. Journaling. If you do not know how or where to start with a journal, start with “how do I feel today?” Explore the emotion. Then explore some of the roots to that emotion. Some prompting questions can be: have I had enough time with myself, with others, with family? What are my insecurities? What qualities do I have that make me like-able? What are the things that I like the least about myself that I can change? Have I been honest in my relationships? Am I being authentic? Do I need to forgive myself or others in order to move on? Comment below as how you work with your vulnerable side. Blessings from the Centred Being

Pendulums

Pendulums are a beautiful way to connect to your intuition and verify something that you already know. They can be made of crystals, beads or metals and wood. Generally speaking, they are made of a natural element. Pendulums made with crystals and tied with a master metal are generally a preferred choice as they hold vibration longer. If you are a beginner dowser, it is wise to find a pendulum made with either a citrine or kyanite crystal as these two gemstones do not require clearing or cleansing of any energies that they pick up. So now that you have your pendulum it is important to clear it, dedicate it and program it so that it responds to you. A beginner dowser will find a pendulum easier to work with if using a citrine or kyanite gemstone. Not only do these gemstone contain beautiful properties, they are also two stones which will never require clearing as they do not hold on to negative energies. If your pendulum is made of a different gemstone it is advisable to clear it before starting. Methods to clear gemstones are various: an easy way is to place your pendulum in a votive candle holder filled with sea salt and let it sit overnight or at least for a few hours. You can also make a saline solution with 2 tablespoons of salt and a half cup of water and let it sit in the solution for 15 minutes. You could also place your pendulum in a sunny window as well. Once you have cleared your pendulum, you are ready to dedicate it. It is very important to dedicate your pendulum, for one thing you will want to be connecting and working with a Being of the Highest Light.  The following invocation is an example of a dedication you can use:  "I dedicate this pendulum to the Light and only to the Light.  I ask that a Being of the Highest Light work through it always.  I dedicate this pendulum to the Truth and I ask that all the answers given be in the highest good of all." Then you can personalize your programming to what suits you. For example:  "I program this pendulum with love, health, integrity, joy etc...."  At the end, ask for Archangel Michael to seal in this programming with his flaming sword of Truth and the Platinum Ray. Vibrational Healing

Everything in the Universe is in motion, all has vibration. Everything that exists, whether in a thought, a spoken word or a manifested object has its own unique vibrational frequency. No two things are truly identical, because each has its unique vibrational pattern. Vibration can be measured in energy. Therefore everything is energy. All human beings have different kinds of energy to use in creating the reality that we wish to live in. We have energy in our thoughts, our feelings, our words and our actions. It is precisely with these energies that we create our own reality. Vibrational healing is a process of understanding how we have used these energies in our creation and learning how to release and transform lower vibrational energies to those of higher consciousness of the Light, effectively transforming our reality. Moving from limitation to freedom. Transforming pain to peace. All thoughts create, and this constitutes the basis for all there is because our thoughts are vibrations even before they become thoughts. We then express them as the energies of words and actions. They manifest with more facility when they are charged with emotion. This is how we interact with the world and this becomes our reality. When learning vibrational healing, we look at limiting belief systems, we look at past experiences of pain in order to actively find the jewel of learning. We learn to move forward in present time and align with our core integrity and truths. We learn the power of affirmation, prayer and gratitude. Thus begins the journey of healing, of discovery of our gifts, our willingness to serve and move towards the essence of consciousness, the connection to the higher self and the eternal being that lives within us. _The Centred Being

The Three Treasures

The Three Treasures are the metaphysical points within our body that serve to remind us of our sacredness. Cultivating the Three Treasures is seen as an act of refinement such as refining vitality into energy, refining energy into spirit and refining spirit into space. The Three Treasures also represent the three steps in recognizing your path. 1st step in recognizing your path is allowing mystery to present and being able to respond to it. Opening up to the I AM. (what was just done with the beautiful SO HUM meditation) You are always you, nothing less and nothing more. Allowing mystery means to give up control. It means knowing you simply can be responsive to all the things that seem to come up randomly and that these in itself are the deeper revelations of knowing. It is TRUST. 2nd step is to see the signposts, your world, your experiences the people in you life and how you choose to respond within the co-creation of your reality become the signposts, the markers of your path. Your path is always unfolding before you. 3rd step is to have confidence and pure motivation. Confidence is the result of your capacity to trust. You cannot hold back, in the hopes of building more confidence. You cannot hold back from stepping onto your path once it is revealed in some way to you. Holding back is an indication that you are attempting to examine and rate your abilities. It is usually based upon fear. Instead, let your confidence be driven by pure intention, pure motivation, compassion, heart centred purity. Then your steps benefit you and others. Know that your motivations are sincere. Stay connected with your heart and trust. The use of the essential oils found in our harmonic blend of Three Treasures Soap, lotion and oil, the  more you strengthen your ability to recognize the divinity within and  recognize your path. The oils strengthen your vibration of gratitude and appreciation of what is, making it easier to see where you are going and this is never ending. _The Centred Being
